Community, courage and compassion are at the center of this season’s annual MLK Tribute Concert. Chicago Sinfonietta draws on history, focusing on unity, resilience, and the bonds of family and friendship. Inspired by Chicago trailblazer Dr. Daniel Hale Williams who performed the first open-heart surgery in 1893, this concert reminds us that opening hearts is also a social mission. From the live performance world premiereWith works influenced by spirituals, people, relationships, and events not to be forgotten, this season’s tribute is where the sparks of courage meet the fires of change.
